As we started the development, we’ve focus much on the Deepfake aspect of the production. Deepfakes still have quite a few limitations, the need for specific angles, poor reaction to low lights and overall technical and heavy handed pipeline.
As for 3D, we saw the overall achievement for realistic characters in Avatar 2, and from then on the full 3D approach became a real viable option.
There is numerous challenges for this approach but it’s still the most flexible one which have a better degree of predictability.
